Dubai: The City of Gold
Dubai is a desert city with amazing tourist attractions and amenities that has the largest immigrant population in the world. This could be because of its central location – it’s central to Europe, the Middle East, the Near East, and India.
The weather is hot and humid most of the year with average highs of 108 F in the summer and 75 F in the winter. It’s no wonder Dubai is known for its beautiful beaches and warm waters. A visit to Dubai is more than a trip to the beach, though. There’s a vast array of things to do that encompass both the old and new parts of the city.
In Old Dubai, visit the Bastakiya District to see old style architecture and visit the art galleries and cafes along the way. Buy everything from souvenirs to local spices at the creek side souks. Don’t miss the Dubai Museum to learn more about their history and how they integrated new technology to transform into a cutting-edge metropolis.
In Modern Dubai, the Burj Khalifa stands as the world’s tallest structure with 160 floors. Stop by the 124th floor observation deck to get a good look at this sprawling city. See the Dubai Fountain, the world’s largest dancing fountain, and watch the water move to world music. The Dubai Marina offers a nice place to take a walk through the city, access its beaches, take a yacht cruise, or spend an evening eating and shopping.
In addition to the modern attractions, you’ll find some of the whitest beaches in the whole world. There are also a lot of natural wonders if you know how to find them – waterfalls, lakes, and even cliffs lined with fossils. There’s endless opportunities for fishing plus outdoor parks for sports lovers. Al Safa Park even has an arcade, Ferris wheel, and bumper cars for the kids.
There are also opportunities for adventure seekers, like parasailing, dune bashing, Wild Wadi waterpark, hot air balloon rides, or desert motorcycle tours. In Dubai, you can find something to do that will show you every aspect of this beautiful city’s natural terrain while also experiencing some of the best and most diverse tourist activities anywhere.
